When you send a survey to your uploaded list of participants, you are able to customize the email that carries the survey link.
There are several parts of the survey email that can be customized for a more personalized effect. The following fields can be edited:
sender email – the email that will appear as the sender in participants’ email inbox. If you need to ensure that your survey emails are coming directly from your company’s email domain, follow our steps to complete the DNS (domain name system) records upload process.
sender name – the name that will appear as the sender in participants’ email inbox
subject line – first text participants will read about the email in their email inbox
preheader – the text revealed after the subject line in participants’ email inbox
custom form – the brand styles you would like to be seen in the email
message above CTA – this is the body of your email where the context and the ask will be provided
CTA – the button participants click to enter the survey
text below CTA – help message for participants to ask questions or opt-out
Once you have entered your custom information, you can review the survey order on the next page and then send to your participants.
Authorize your domain
When you send a survey to your custom list of participants, you’ll want to ensure your domain is verified, so the email won’t go to someone’s spam folder — or worse, get your domain blacklisted.
What is domain authorization and why should I do it?
Depending on what DNS (domain name system) you use, we can send you the proper instructions.
What DNS do you use? Here are a few examples:
GoDaddy
Google
Quad9
OpenDNS
Cloudflare
CleanBrowsing
Alternate DNS
AdGuard DNS
DNSmadeeasy
How we can help in this process:
SendGrid is the email system we use to send out surveys on your behalf. SendGrid needs to verify that you indeed own your domain (example: hydrafacial.com), so we provide specific records from our SendGrid account for you to upload into your domain name system (DNS). By adding these records to your DNS, it verifies that you own the domain and SendGrid will allow emails to be sent from that domain, instead of coming from “——.”
To verify your domain, we can send you particular DNS records that you will then upload to your domain name system (DNSmadeeasy, in HydraFacial’s case).
First, you’ll receive an email that we will send via SendGrid. It will look like this:
Click the blue button and you will be taken to the particular records you will add.
To add them in the proper place, you will need to log in to your domain name system’s admin portal: (https://auth.dnsmadeeasy.com/, in HydraFacial’s case).
Once logged into the Admin portal, you can follow these instructions:
When you have completed this process, send us a message and we’ll continue the verification process from there!
An authenticated domain improves deliverability and reputation, which is important if you want your email to stay out of someone’s Spam folder. Having an authenticated domain proves to Inbox Service Providers (Gmail, for example) you own the domain and removes the via sendgrid.net or via helio.app text that inbox providers would otherwise append to your From address.
